Are You Willing to Take the Risk?
Most people classify risk as a negative, something that is antagonistic to their objective, a threat that must be rejected or rebuked. Risk, however, is not a negative or a positive. Risk is risk and should be recognized as such. Failure to acknowledge risk heightens the impact (effects) of risk on decision making and can potentially cancel out the benefits you aim to experience. In other words, as you somersault out of a plane 12000ft in the air, your thrill seeking exploits will have you plunging into the ground due to your disregard for a parachute. To acknowledge risk is to exercise wisdom. Risk is not to be feared. Instead, risk must be embraced in order to navigate decisions. In business, decisions are generated by weighing both the risks and the benefits of a strategy or idea PRIOR to implementation. To safeguard the potentiality of desired outcomes, astute entrepreneurs determine strategies that address risk. This parachute allows them to enjoy that free fall, all the while knowing they will see their profits and experience expansive growth tomorrow. So gear up! Take on risk by looking it in the eye and studying its composition. Plan accordingly. Your bottom-line will thank you.
