Challenging the Few to Silence the Masses
Sooooo America, what really is our objective? No, let's have this conversation. Let's have a nationwide conversation. What really is our objective? Every week...no everyday you highlight someone saying something or doing something you do not agree with...and you follow that act with some extreme consequence as if to squash the matter into oblivious.
In implementing these consequences, what is your objective? In your protests and news reports and comments and all, what your objective? Are you hoping to become a nation of morality after over 300 years of sexism, racism, terrorism, and other phobias turned into oppressive -isms to advance select branches of society?
What will you use to define our morals when we have yet to build our spiritual prowess, our faith. Most nations at least rely on a curriculum, an official religion- a man-made construct based in spirituality to systemically govern, guide, or attain civility among their people. America, we have no official religion or faith.
Is our objective to be on one accord, homogenized nation as seen in the yesteryears of France or Britain? We have 50 states, each unique. Our nation is diverse not homogeneous. Each person walks with a unique set of genetic coding reflecting the ethnic and cultural diversity of our planet. Our experiences are unique and cannot be controlled or even undermined by standards that does not honor diversity.
Look America, if we do not have this conversation...if we continue to publicly shame our people for minor infractions or disagreeable statements, we will push ourselves into a box. We will become mute and fearful of speaking, fearful of thinking. As H.G. Wells illustrated, we will become The Eloi.
The "Forefounders of America" constitutionalized the institutionalization of systems allowing free speech and free-thinking because where they came from, freedoms were not allowed. I imagine that today they would be appalled by how we have digressed. The Monarchy and Church of the 18th century shunned free speech and free-thinking. Today, the the proletariat is walking in the footsteps of past majesties. Censorship. Mutism. Silencing the common man for fear of what he may think. Publicly torturing him by threatening their livelihood because we fear what we cannot see, thoughts. We all might as well be the Queen of Hearts. I don't like what you said, off with your head!
