On the Road to Letting Go

We let things go all the time. We do! You may not think so. You may disagree. But, it's true. We do. For a split second, we'll fume over the guy who cut us off on the 405 FWY but we do not allow that guy to phase us for life. We know we must continue onward to our destination regardless of reckless impeding bikers, pedestrians sprinting cross the street, or car doors flinging open into your lane without notice. Yeah sure we'll swerve and fuss and cuss at the slow drivers and unexplained traffic plugging every avenue and highway. Our road rage is strong. Yet, we must stay focused on our end-goal, the sole purpose of our journey. As drivers, we understand our end-goal is greater than the challenges faced on the road. The moment we arrive at our destination, we exit the car. Our rage diminishes and exits with us. We are no longer concerned about our experience on the road. We have accomplished our goal despite the struggle.

The journey of life is often illustrated as a road. Perhaps it's time for us to start applying what we have learned from our experiences on the road to the journey of life.
